Spurred on by local 4-H Extension Associate Brennan Jackson, the days of Rodeo Round-Up not only featured hands-on horse riding with special events of walking, trotting, and cantering, but Jackson’s efforts to secure this exciting venue for these kids also provided barrel racing and pole bending.
“Few (4-H members) have opportunities,” Peterson said when speaking of the provisions that Jackson has afforded the local kids.
Peterson, who also volunteered her farm for the two days, has most of her eight children involved in the festivities.
“Part fun, part learning,” was her mantra as the hot sun beating down, during a rare dry day for this Georgia summer, was alleviated by various water games.
