A Macon man who is a member of the Marine Reserves will remain in the Jones County Law Enforcement Center following a bond hearing last week.

Caleb Osborne is charged with the crimes of armed robbery, simple battery, and burglary. He was arrested Feb. 3 with co-defendant Keith Pittman James and was in court April 11 requesting bond.

Attorney Keith Fitzgerald represented Osborne in the hearing. He told the court he had a number of character witnesses for Osborne who could not attend the hearing. He stated that Osborne graduated high school with good grades, and his family is local.

Fitzgerald told the court that Osborne joined the Marine Reserves in 2011 and volunteers at Carlyle Place in Macon.

“I spoke to three people at Carlyle Place. Caleb works with elderly residents, and they enjoy him. They said Carlyle Place would hire him if there was an open position,” he said.
