The club is selling pillows made from old uniform jackets, and the finished product will definitely become collector items, especially for former band members and their families.
Jody Moroney, the new president for the Band Boosters, said since the beginning of the school year, she had been hearing about the old uniforms and that they needed to be sold.
“I went online to a few sites and noticed the same uniforms had been there for months. I did a little research and found an article about the University of Miami and pillows made from their uniforms being sold to raise money,” she said.
Moroney said she approached band director Corey Tanner and he thought it was a great idea. She said Katie Knighton, who is one of the band students, is making the pillows.
“We actually have a list of uniform numbers back to 2006, so we can give former band members the actual jacket they wore,” Moroney said.
