The Jones County Board of Commissioners honored an Eagle Scout at last week’s meeting and hired a human resources director.

The Nov. 5 meeting began with a presentation to Hunter James Kimball in commemoration of his achievement of the rank of Eagle Scout. Chairman Preston Hawkins read a proclamation from the commissioners and presented Kimball with a copy of the document.

Fire station

Emergency Management Director and Jones County Fire Chief Don Graham introduced Phil Guest from Premier Construction Associates, the construction manager for the new fire station in Griswoldville Park, and project manager, Chris Davis.

Guest said he was tasked to come up with a schematic design and construction schedule. He presented the board with a design and said the cost would be $392,000.

“We appreciate you letting us go through this process with you,” he said.
