The Gray Jaycees Annual Lighted Christmas Parade is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 10, with the starting point and staging area once again at Ingles parking lot.

The parade begins at 7 p.m., and this year’s theme is Winter Wonderland. The 2013 grand marshal is Nancy Pace, who will be accompanied in the parade by her grandchildren.

Parade coordinator Kay Buchanan said the parade would follow its traditional route down West Clinton Street, turning right at Railroad Street, and ending at Gordon Street. The rain date for the event is Dec. 11.

“This is a hometown parade, and we are proud of the delight it brings to so many as Santa arrives to welcome the holiday season,” she said.

Buchanan said, to comply with the Georgia Department of Transportation regulations, 65 units is the suggested number of entries to comply with the closing of West Clinton for a total of 1 hour and 15 minutes.

She said, so far, 60 entries have committed with five of them being first-timers.

“As long as slots are available, we will take entries through Friday, Dec. 6,” Buchanan said.
