An alert teller at State Bank and Trust Company in Gray is the main reason four Atlanta men are in the Jones County jail charged with forgery.

Warren Bernard Long, 50, Anthony Ramond Light, 35, Michael Douglas Scott Sr., 56, and David Brian Campbell, 36, were arrested Oct. 21. Light is charged with forgery in the first degree, and the other three are charged with being a party to the crime of forgery.

Capt. Leo Sweet of the Gray Police Department said a similar forgery case occurred this past January, and the suspects were not caught.

“These are the same type of counterfeit checks, but the tellers were on top of it,” Sweet stated.
