Jones County had three wrestlers place individually in the Shamrock Scuffle at Dublin High School last Saturday.

Jackson Williamson finished second in the heavyweight division, suffering his first loss of the season. He is now 36-1 on the year.

Tim Randolph was third in the 113-pound division, losing in overtime in the semifinals for only his second loss this season. He is now 49-2.

And Scott Rooks was fourth at 220 pounds for the Greyhounds.

“It was easily the toughest tournament we’ve been to this year,” coach Daniel Lewis said, “with 11 of the 14 teams there having qualified for the state duals as either the first- or second-place team from their region. We were missing four varsity starters for various reasons, but it was good to get the three guys medal that we did have place. We’ve still got some work to do before the region individuals, though.”

The region tournament is scheduled for Feb. 1-2 at Warner Robins High School. The top finishers in each weight class at region advance to the sectionals Feb. 8-9 in Loganville, and the state tournament will be in Macon Feb. 14-16.
