The Greyhounds won their final home match of the season Monday, downing Stockbridge 66-16 and Rutland 41-33.

They also finished fourth in the Elbert County Invitational last Saturday as they prepare to compete in the Region 2-AAAAA individual tournament in Warner Robins this Friday and Saturday.

“We wrestled pretty well up at Elbert County, had seven of our guys place, so hopefully we can do that well in Warner Robins this weekend,” Jones County coach Daniel Lewis said.

Tim Randolph, who has dropped down to the 106-pound weight class for the finish of the season, won his division at the Elbert County tournament.

“He wrestled at 113 and even some at 120 most of the season during duals,” Lewis said. “He ate pretty much whatever he wanted and didn’t worry about his weight. But he never weighed more than 110, 112, so it wasn’t hard for him to get down to wrestle at 106. This time of year you only have to be at 109, so that wasn’t much. He’s wrestled well all year and should have an even better chance to advance through sectionals to state at 106.”

Placing second at Elbert County were Davin Price at 138 and Jequelle Griffin at 145. Seth Killgo was third at 132, and placing fourth were Danny Williams at 126, Darrell Lee Duggan at 152 and Scott Rooks at 220.
