The official results for Jones County’s Board of Education election had Dr. Nancy Nash the winner in District Three and Ken Hamilton the winner in District One.
Jones County was the winner on the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax with a victory of 61 percent of the vote.
Nash took 64 percent of the vote for District Three and Hamilton 57 percent, which means no runoff will be necessary for the local races.
The early voters represented 5 percent of Jones County’s registered voters with 798 votes cast from April 28 and ending May 16. Those numbers were the first to be counted after the polls closed May 20 and showed Nash as the victor in District Three and Hamilton in District One with margins of over 60 percent.
Jones County’s Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax was ahead by a 3–1 margin.
