The three-day tournament, to be played at Jones County High School’s gym, this year features the girls’ and boys’ teams from Salem, Georgia Military College, Dublin, Washington County, Central-Macon, First Presbyterian Day School, Elbert County and Jones County.
Both Jones County teams open against Elbert County Thursday, with the girls playing at 7 p.m. and the boys at 8:30 p.m. Entering the tournament, the Jones County girls were 2-5, and Elbert County was 4-2, pending the outcome of Tuesday’s games. The Jones County boys were 3-4 and Elbert County 5-1.
In other opening round games on Thursday, the Salem girls (3-4) face GMC (1-7) at 10 a.m., the Salem boys (5-3) play GMC (3-4) at 11:30 a.m., the Dublin girls (5-1) meet Washington County (5-1) at 1 p.m., the Dublin boys (4-1) face Washington County (5-1) at 2:30 p.m., the Central-Macon girls (0-4) play FPD (0-4) at 4 p.m., and the Central-Macon boys (1-4) meet the FPD boys (6-2) at 5:30 p.m.
Loser bracket games on Friday will be at 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., with winner bracket contests scheduled for 4 p.m., 5:30 p.m., 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.
