Jones County, Monticello and Perry all won four matches and lost one in the tournament, but Monticello won the event thanks to having the most total points, 300. Jones County had 285 points and Perry 263, but Perry finished second and Jones County third because the Panthers beat the Greyhounds in their head-to-head match, coach Jacob Crook reported.
The Greyhounds defeated Northeast-Macon 68-10, Monticello 39-37, Georgia Military 75-6 and Northside-Warner Robins 58-17. They lost to Perry 42-39.
Individually, 182-pounder Torrez Finney led the Greyhounds, going 5-0 with five pins. Going 5-0 with four pins for Jones County were Tim Randolph (126 pounds), Seth Killgo (145) and Scott Rooks (220). Darrell Lee Duggan (170) was 5-0 with three pins, and Daniel Curry (195) was 5-0 with two pins.
