The Lady Hounds fell to Georgia Military 2-1 at home on Friday to drop to .500 on the season at 4-4-1.

The game, originally scheduled for last Tuesday, was postponed twice by rain. Thursday’s varsity game with Alcovy was also rained out, as were junior varsity games with Union Grove and Alcovy.

Junior second baseman Olivia Lane was 2-for-4 with a double and Jones County’s only run to lead the Lady Hounds at the plate.

She singled with two outs in the third, went to third on a single by Taylor Bennett and scored when McKenzie Barnes drew a bases-loaded walk after Kaitlin Woodward was hit by a pitch.

But Georgia Military rallied with single runs in the fifth and sixth to take the victory.

In the fifth, the Lady Bulldogs scored when a runner reached on an error, stole second, moved to third when another runner was thrown out at the plate, and scored on a wild pitch.
