The Greyhounds managed a pair of three-point victories in non-region games last weekend to even their record at 8-8 for the season, downing Dublin 43-40 at home on Friday and Georgia Military 47-44 in Milledgeville on Saturday.

The Greyhounds lost 68-61 at Northside-Warner Robins in a region game last Tuesday to even their mark in the league at 1-1.

They host Warner Robins in another region game Friday night to start a six-game home stand, which includes a non-region game against Monticello on Saturday night.

Kyle Johnson scored 19 points to lead the Eagles over Jones County, which was led by Brandon Wimberly with 17 points and Jarquez Smith with 16.

“The Northside game was physical, as I expected it to be, but I thought it would be a higher-scoring game,” Jones County coach Dennis Woolfolk said. “But they’ve lost a couple of players and we should have matched up with them a little better.

“But we were kind of sluggish as a team and never really got the kind of intensity we needed. They were always four or five points ahead of us except when we made a run in the third quarter. But then they made one in the fourth quarter and we couldn’t catch up again.”
