A Jones County man received a 30-year sentence last week for three counts of child molestation.

Bruce Allen Jones pled guilty in Superior Court Jan. 15 and was given six years to serve and credit for time served since his March 25, 2011, incarceration.

The breakdown of his sentence was 20 years for child molestation counts one and three and 10 years count two, which was also child molestation. Count two is to run consecutive with count one but concurrent with count three for a total of 30 years. The remainder of sentence is to be served on probation.

An incident report dated Dec. 1, 2009, states that Jones had sexual contact with a juvenile over an extended period of time. The juvenile reported the contact to her mother, who reported it to Deputy Angel Feliciano.

The case was turned over to an investigator and the subsequent investigation led to Jones’ arrest.
