The Lady Hounds opened the 2013 season with a 3-0 victory at West Laurens on Tuesday. The game was postponed a day by rain.

Junior lefty Kylie Bass pitched a one-hitter for Jones County, striking out nine and walking none.

The Lady Hounds broke up a scoreless tie in the top of the fourth. Jazmine Washington led off with a single, stole second and went to third on a wild pitch. Bass doubled her home with one out. Courtesy runner Cheyanne Mosteller stole third and scored on a wild pitch to give the Lady Hounds a 2-0 lead.

They added their third run in the fifth. Madison Cavender singled with one out, stole second and scored when Charli Justice reached on a two-out error by first baseman Harley Roberts.

Whitney Oliver went the distance for West Laurens, giving up five hits and striking out six.
