When Jones County hosts Northside-Warner Robins in tennis Thursday afternoon, it will be a showdown for first place in the subregion for the Lady Hounds and Lady Eagles. Play is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.

Northside handed the Jones County girls their first loss of the season last Wednesday with a 3-2 victory in Warner Robins. The Lady Hounds had edged Northside by the same score earlier in the season.

The Northside boys also edged Jones County 3-2.

Coach Alisha Gordon reported that the Lady Hounds’ No. 1 doubles team of Olivia Lane and Logan Bowden remain undefeated on the season, as does the Greyhounds’ No. 2 singles player, Jacob Wills.

The Lady Hounds rebounded from their loss to Northside to down Houston County 3-2 at home on Thursday. The Greyhounds lost, however, falling 3-2.

Both Jones County teams blanked Putnam County 5-0 in a non-region match on Monday at home. That makes the Lady Hounds 8-1 overall and 4-1 in Region 2B-AAAAA. The Greyhounds are 5-4 overall and 1-4 in the subregion.
