JONES COUNTY: Richard Lawrence “Larry” Harper, 63, of Griswoldville Road, died Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013, at his residence. Memorial services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 15, at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville, with the Rev. James Cannon officiating.

Mr. Harper was born May 27, 1950, in Macon, and had lived in Jones County for the past 23 years. He was the son of the late Charles Fredrick Harper and Stella May O’Shannassy Harper. Mr. Harper honorably served his country with the U.S. Marine Corps during Vietnam, earned the rank of sergeant, and was awarded a Purple Heart. He was also retired from Robins Air Maintenance Base, where he worked as a sheet metal mechanic.

Mr. Harper is survived by his wife, Peggy Harper; children and spouse, Angie and Joey Hinson, Bo Bentley, Sean Harper, Veronica Harper and Laurie Tincher; grandchildren, Brittney Leverett, Jessica Hinson, Mikey Hinson, Keaton Stuart, Skyller Lyles, Lily Reese and Carly Reese; and by his great-grandchildren, D.J. Brock and Raegen Leverett.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family to help offset funeral expenses.
