Jesse Caleb Newby was in court Nov. 1 requesting a bond so he could be released from custody and after hearing the arguments of the state and the defense attorney, Chief Judge William Prior said no.
Prior stated the grounds for the denial as Newby being a danger to the community and the potential for reoffend.
Newby, 17, was arrested Sept. 27 with co-defendants Dakota Lee Bennefield, 18, and Jonathan Scott Lucas, 18.
Assistant District Attorney Keagan Goodrich began by reading information from seven warrants charging the trio with the crimes of entering auto.
Defense attorney Sam Hart Jr. told the court that his client has no prior felony convictions and had been incarcerated for 35 days.
