Brandon Jeffery Jackson, 20, of Macon, and Desmond Newton, 20, of Gray, were arrested March 19. Timothy Urain Bell, 19, of Gordon, was arrested March 26.
All three men were charged with robbery by force, and Bell was also charged with obstruction of law enforcement officers, driving while license is suspended or revoked, and possession of marijuana, less than an ounce.
Gray Police Chief Adam Lowe said in a Friday morning interview that the crime took place at a residence on Laura Lane in Gray. He said the victim went to the residence March 18 after being called by a friend to retrieve his hat.
“Four or five guys were playing ball, and the three offenders turned on the victim and asked for his money,” he said.
The victim was allegedly grabbed and thrown to the ground by Bell, and Jackson searched him. The chief said it was Newton who found the victim’s money in his sock and took it.
The crime was reported to the GPD and officers interviewed the victim.
In an incident report by Gray Police Sgt. Mitch Lovick, the victim was warned after the robbery not to tell anyone or he would be killed.
