During the past four years I have worked extremely hard with the mayor and Council to move the city of Gray forward. Some of the achievements that I’m most proud of are:
1. We have not had to raise taxes in the last eight years, even though surrounding communities have. We have continued to be good stewards over the city’s resources, which have allowed us to retain a millage rate of 9.5 for the last four years and build a cash reserve to use in the case of any unforeseen emergency.
2. We have continued to work with our engineers and the EPD and have submitted the necessary documentation to expand our waste water treatment plant, which will allow the city to continue to grow in the future.
3. The city has been proactive in addressing its storm water issues and repairing its roads and making sure that they are serviceable at all times. We have partnered with the DOT on several road projects, such as the repair and resurfacing of Stonegables Drive and Court and Lakeside Drive and Lana Drive. This partnership resulted in a substantial saving for the city and its citizens.
