A negotiated plea resulted in a probated sentence for a Jones County woman who was arrested several times last year on drug charges.

Tiffany Faye Woodard was charged with violations of the Georgia Controlled Substance act, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, but was allowed to plea to the lesser included offense of possession of marijuana in Jones County Superior Court Oct. 24.

Woodard received a negotiated sentence of 15 years with the first year to be served in confinement. She is to receive credit for time served at the Jones County Law Enforcement Center since Sept. 20, 2012, and the time of her inpatient treatment at Golden Rule. The remainder of her sentence may be served on probation.

Woodard’s criminal history was presented to the court by Assistant District Attorney Keagan Waystack during a 2012 revocation hearing. She said the defendant was arrested for VGCSA possession of meth with the intent to distribute Aug. 16 and possession of a knife. She was already on bond in Twiggs County but was released on another bond. Two weeks later Woodard was arrested for possession of meth and marijuana.
