Man gets eight years for violence against brother

Violence between brothers resulted in an eight year sentence for a Lizella man last week in Jones County Superior Court.

Vernon Scott Kersey pled guilty Jan. 27 to the charges of burglary, criminal damage to property, and terroristic threats and acts. He received a total of eight years probation with the stipulation that he will seek mental and drug treatment while he is on probation. The defendant was also ordered to pay $10,000 in restitution.
