But three missed free throws in the final 30 seconds wrecked their late rally to allow Dutchtown to escape Gray with a 39-38 victory, which put the finish on a terrible week for the Jones County girls.
They were also blown out 67-46 at Ola on Tuesday and 54-23 at Woodland on Friday to fall to 10-9 overall and 3-6 in 3A-AAAA, sliding to fifth place in the subregion.
