Deputy Nicholes was patrolling Highway 49 when he noticed a vehicle traveling with very dark tinted windows. The deputy initiated a traffic stop, advised the driver of Georgia law regarding tinted windows, and checked the windows with a tint meter. The windows registered an eight on the meter, and the driver was issued a warning citation. While speaking with the driver, the deputy noticed the smell of marijuana. The driver denied having any. Deputy Humphries’ K-9 began to search the car, and the passenger produced a plastic bag of marijuana. The offender was placed under arrest and transported to the LEC.
Sgt. Giltz responded to a business on West Clinton Street in reference to drug activity. The complainant said she noticed a bag of what appeared to be marijuana in the parking lot in front of the store. She said a customer came in earlier smelling like marijuana, and she thought the bag may have fallen out of his car, but she was not sure. The bag was taken by Giltz and placed into evidence.
Sgt. Giltz was dispatched to a gas station on West Clinton Street in reference to a gasoline drive-off. The complainant gave a description of a vehicle that received $69.36 worth of fuel before the driver left without rendering payment. Neither a description of the driver nor the vehicle’s direction of travel was known. A manager was not available at the time to play back the surveillance video.
