Todd Wood signs copies of his book Currency. The author will be at Kema’s Hobby Bookstore in Gray Saturday afternoon for a booksigning.
The Sept. 29 event is scheduled from noon until 2 p.m.
Bookstore owner Kema Clark said Wood called her a few weeks ago about carrying his book here in her store, so she asked him to send her a couple of copies, which he did. She said she has already sold one of the books. Clark sent him a note telling him she wished she had asked him to sign the books before sending them to her.
“He wrote back and said he had an even better idea. His daughter goes to school at Valdosta State, and he’s traveling from Connecticut to see her this coming weekend. He asked what I thought about him coming by the bookstore to sign books for a couple of hours on Saturday. Of course, I thought it was an awesome idea, so he’ll be here Saturday,” Clark said.
Wood was born in Georgia and raised in Savannah. He has had careers as a special ops helicopter pilot and as an emerging markets fixed income sales trader. The author now believes that such combined threats to the sustainability of the United States as an economic and political power are very real.
