The gates opened at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, and the fair continues through Saturday. Ticket prices remain the same as last year with adult admission $5, students ages 6-18 pay $4, and children under 6 are admitted free. Every night is Family Night, and the price of an armband allows the wearer to ride all they want until the gates close.
The Jones County Lions Club has a Facebook page, and daily fair updates will be posted including any price changes and weather updates.
The fair is held at the Lions Club fairgrounds located on Highway 18 East, about a mile from downtown Gray. The Lions Club has been in existence since 1968 and has been bringing the fair to the community each year for 43 years. The midway is once again provided by Dixieland Carnival.
A big draw for the Lions Club Fair is the safe atmosphere compared to similar events in nearby counties. People travel to Jones County so they can relax in a family environment while their children enjoy the rides and games.
