Chairman Greg Mullis said board member Josh Lurie suggested revisiting goals set at the authority’s Strategic Planning Retreat in January. The focus of the group has been on wastewater treatment for the industrial park.
The defeat of the transportation sales tax means the funds for the sewer system considered necessary to attract prospects and a railroad spur are not available.
Lurie said there are other items to work on, including training a sales team to handle prospects. He said Alan Nippert, the owner of the park’s sole resident NFI Installation, is interested in being involved.
He also said marketing to attract commercial businesses is another issue to consider.
“Another Ethica would be great for our community. T.J. (Heath) has suggested we need an inventory for commercial and retail buildings,” Lurie said.
