One point everyone involved in the 2012 Election would agree upon is it was a long process at all levels.

Jones County mirrored the state of Georgia with Romney the victor as expected by a margin 64 to 35 percent.

In the Jones County Board of Commissioners race, Chairman Preston Hawkins (R) retained his seat with a margin of 56 percent to 44 percent for Democratic challenger Chuck Baker. In the county’s only other contested race, Commission District 4, however, incumbent Bert Liston, who has held the seat for eight years, lost to challenger Daylon Martin (D) with a margin of 53 to 47 percent.
