A press release about the Oct. 31 blaze from Jones County Fire Chief Don Graham stated that Jones County Fire and Rescue volunteers responded to a fire call on Sand Creek Trail at 9:50 a.m.
Graham said firemen arrived to find the single-story dwelling with heavy fire conditions on the roofline.
“Firefighters engaged in an aggressive attack on the blaze for more than 50 minutes,” he said.
The chief said homeowners James Brinson, his wife, and child were not at home when the fire broke out.
“The dwelling was a complete loss. The origin and cause of the blaze was clearly determined to be that of a heating lamp on the outside of the dwelling,” he said.
