Bass named MVP, Lane is given Trimnell award

Sophomore pitcher Kylie Bass was named most valuable player of the 2012 Lady Hounds at the softball team’s annual awards program Monday night.

Sophomore center fielder and leadoff hitter Jazmine Washington was named best offensive, and freshman first baseman-pitcher McKenzie Barnes was named best defensive.

Junior second baseman Olivia Lane won the academic award for a 94.8 grade point average, and she received the Jessica Trimnell Award for character.

Sophomore outfielder-catcher Kensley Brown was given the coaches’ Greyhound award for spirit and leadership.
