Juandrigus Williams of Milledgeville was driving along Highway 49 in Jones County Oct. 10, 2009, at a few minutes past 8 p.m., when he saw a van on fire and a woman outside the vehicle also in flames. He stopped and was able to put out the fire enveloping the victim and stayed with her until help arrived.
Williams also talked to officers and told them what he saw as he came upon the scene.
Assistant District attorneys Gregory Bushway and Keagan Goodrich held a press conference Monday, Nov. 26, to present a $3,000 check to Williams on behalf of the Georgia Arson Control Program.
Bushway introduced law enforcement and agency representatives and Williams to begin the press conference.
