The Jones County varsity girls won one of three games last week, losing on the road 48-27 at Dublin on Tuesday and 52-44 at Monticello on Saturday but winning 47-46 over Dodge County at home on Friday.

The Lady Hounds are now 2-5 on the season.

In the game at Dublin, the Lady Hounds fell behind 17-8 in the first quarter and were never able to catch up. They played the Lady Irish even in the second period, but the home team outscored Jones County 21-9 in the second half to win easily. Dublin improved to 4-1.

Senior point guard Keke Roberts was the only Jones County player to hit in double figures, scoring 10. Shikira Willis led Dublin with 14.

In the home game on Friday, the Lady Hounds jumped ahead in the first half, then barely held on at the end to win by a point.

Freshman Tra Rawlings led Jones County with 20 points, and senior Heather Rushin added 11. Markesha McCloud led Dodge with 16.
