GRAY: Edythe Claire Harvey, 77, of Stewart Avenue, died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, at a local hospice facility. The family greeted friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Saturday, in the old sanctuary of Gray United Methodist Church. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, Dec. 17, at the Family Life Center of Gray UMC, with the Revs. Ricky Varnell and Jason Wade officiating.

Mrs. Harvey was born March 3, 1935, in Macon, and had lived in Gray for the past 43 years. She was the daughter of the late Albert Sidney Hatcher Jr. and Edythe Claire Hardeman Hatcher. Mrs. Harvey was the former owner of A.S. Hatcher Marine and was a devoted member of Gray UMC.

Mrs. Harvey is survived by her husband of 58 years, George Alton Harvey; sons and daughters-in-law, Robbie and Joette Harvey and Alton Jr. and Deborah Harvey; daughter and son-in-law, Polly and Bobby Wells; grandchildren, Claire Wells, Lizzie Wells, Bobby Harvey, Edith Harvey, Brittany Harvey, Rebecca Woolums and her husband Mike, Chad Harper and Heather Harper.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Gray United Methodist Church Building Fund, 117 S. Jefferson St., Gray, GA 31032.
