Reginald Christopher Scott, 52, of Jones County, was arrested May 28 on charges of DUI alcohol or drugs as a habitual violator, DUI alcohol or drugs third offense, DUI alcohol or drugs less safe, driving on roadways laned for traffic, running a stop light, open container, and driving while license suspended or revoked.
He was released on bond the same day. He was involved in an accident May 31 and charged with failure to maintain lane, driving while license suspended or revoked, reckless driving, too fast for conditions, and being a habitual violator.
The state had Scott in court Dec. 13 asking his bond be revoked.
Assistant District Attorney Gregory Bushway explained it was not until his office was working on indictments in August that Scott’s habitual violator record came to their attention.
