A group of Jones Countians dedicated to promoting the national anti-abortion effort met last week to plan Gray’s second Life Chain event.

The Life Chain demonstration is scheduled Jan. 20 from 2-3:15 p.m. in downtown Gray, beginning at Bill Conn Parkway and continuing through Gray to the railroad tracks.

The Jan. 3 meeting was held in the community room of Tri-County EMC and local Life Chain chairman Dr. Steve Albanese presided over the meeting.

“Last year was such a positive event, I expect more people to be on board this year,” the chairman said.

Joan Childs, president of the Jones/Bibb County chapter of Georgia Right to Life, was at the meeting and invited attendees to join the statewide effort.

The next Life Chain organizational meeting is scheduled for Jan. 14 at 6:30 p.m. at Tri-County.
