GRAY: Betty Jean Mathis, 59, of Hunting Drive, died Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, in a local hospital. The family greeted friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, at Bridges Funeral Home in Gray. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 6, in the chapel of Bridges Funeral Home, with burial following at Middle Georgia Memory Gardens in Macon. The Rev. L.C. Warren officiated the services.

Ms. Mathis, the daughter of the late John Bill Mathis and Imogene Howard Mathis, was born in Macon on March 29, 1953, and had lived in Gray for the past 10 years. The family would like to thank River Edge Behavioral Health Center, especially Arnelle Reeves. They would also like to thank Michelle Gray, of McRae, and Christine Patrick, of Milledgeville, for their love and support.

Ms. Mathis is survived by her sisters and brothers-in-law, Judy and Elton Langley and Anne and Richard Gatliff; and by two aunts and several nieces and nephews.
