The Jones County boys won home matches at Lake Jonesco against Monticello and GMC last week and finished second in a three-school match at Forsyth Country Club.

The Lady Hounds were also second in Forsyth. GMC does not have a girls’ team, and scores were not recorded in the Monticello match due to the difference in team scoring sets for schools of different sizes in the GHSA regulations, coach Jeff Williams said.

The Greyhounds downed Monticello 181-223. Scores for the Jones County boys were 41 for Kris Miller and Zach Haney, 43 for Brannen Meadows, 44 for Colby Daniels and Cole Evans, 45 for Kenny Yawn, 48 for Kyle Clay and Stirling Arnold, 50 for Cole Vickers, and 54 for Jacob Lary.

In the 191-230 victory over GMC, Haney shot 35, Miller 41, Daniels and Yawn 44, Meadows 45, Evans and Vickers 46, Clay 47, Mitchell Mock 48, Arnold 54, and Lary 57.

Mary Persons won the three-school match at Forsyth Country Club with a 154, followed by Jones County at 169 and Lamar County at 203. The Bulldogs’ Coleman Martin and Dalton Johnson both shot 37 for low medalist honors.
