The effort of construction and painting of a picnic table as a symbol of the project was led by 4-H member Jacob Livingston, who was one of the speakers at the April 20 program.
The 4-H’ers took turns at the program talking about child hunger and what they did to help eliminate it.
Jones County 4-H program assistant Brennan Jackson explained that, over the past couple of weeks, Jones County 4-H has worked on a project to raise awareness of child hunger. He said the project is called “What Will You Bring to the Table?”, which is a community service initiative led by Generation On.
He said Generation On is a global youth service movement that cooperates with different youth organizations to encourage and inspire youth to get involved in service activities.
“Though there are different projects offered through the project, Jones County 4-H decided to raise awareness by building and painting a picnic table that is decorated and painted to draw attention to child hunger,” Jackson stated.
