Mid Georgia River Adventures LLC is providing a great outlet for kids (and the parents they drag along), who want to experience outdoor fun in the sun and spend a great day of socializing while gently seeing the world via the Ocmulgee River.
Bryan Charron, wife Tanyel, daughter Cheyenne, and brother Doug have innovated a way to organize for river outings to be as simple as showing up and letting them take care of the rest.
Providing inflatable river tubes, large and small, each with a life preserver (12 and under required according to Department of Natural Resources), or renting a kayak, plus transportation to a drop-off point and/or pickup point, Charron has alleviated the necessity of groups trying to park alongside a highway, then float down a river, while hoping to somehow get back to their car miles away without it having been towed or ticketed.
When you come to Juliette Park on the Jones County side, Charron will be there Saturdays and Sundays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and then every weekday beginning June 9 through the summer. For those river tubing, you and your group of friends, or youth group, or just 47 of your newest friends, can get on the MGRA bus and sit back while Charron takes you up to a point on the Ocmulgee; a 4.5-mile floating dream. The event will take approximately two hours. The price per person is $12, and parking is free. Last launch is 3 p.m.
