The free twice-weekly camp is designed to keep kids fit while helping them hone their basic softball and baseball skills. The first hour is spent in cardiovascular and agility drills, and the second hour is used for the ball skills.
On Tuesday, the kids were timed in drills that had them weave through courses running forward, backward and skipping sideways. Later they practiced fielding ground balls.
The program runs through July 18, with sessions on Mondays and Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to noon at the Central Recreation Complex off Ga. 18 East.
