The driver in a one-car accident that took place in the early morning hours one day last week in Haddock remains in intensive care with life-threatening injuries.

A report of the Aug. 13 accident by Jones County Sheriff’s Deputy Robert Taylor states the wreck was reported at 4:57 a.m. and he arrived at the scene at 5:15 a.m.

Upon arrival the deputy found Thomas Wayne Massengale, who lives in Haddock, lying on the ground approximately 55 feet from his vehicle. Massengale was driving a 1995 Chevy Blazer.

Taylor said the Blazer was off the road with major damage to the entire vehicle, including the top from being overturned. The officer stated he found 78 feet of skid marks prior to the vehicle leaving the roadway and 28 feet of skid marks after leaving the roadway before turning over.
