The Gray Station Middle School football team defeated Crawford County last Wednesday by a score of 44-6. Coach Travis Lawson was very proud of the team’s hard work and reported that the offense, defense, and special teams did a good job for their first game.

“We still have a lot of work to do, but the players did what it took on the field to come out on top,” said Lawson.

The offensive highlights for the game included four touchdowns by Drake Bolus with Adrian Hardwick and Kyle Lumley adding one touchdown a piece. They were led by Dustin Hostetter and Ty Gordon at the quarterback position.

On the defensive end, Coleman Roberts, Trey Poore, Cameron Douberly, Kenny Hunter, and Courlin Williams worked hard to keep Crawford County to only 6 points. The Gray Station Hounds will host Peach County next week at JCHS at 5 p.m..

Lawson encourages community support of student athletes.

“On behalf of Gray Station administration, faculty, and staff, we would like to invite you, the public, to come out to support our student athletes,” he said. “In season at this time is cross country, softball, cheerleading, and football. Take some time to enjoy watching our young athletes compete.”
