Twenty-one-month-old Robert Andrew Moody was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Medical Center of Central Georgia Sept. 6. According to a report of the tragedy by Jones County Sheriff’s Deputy Tyler Hall, he was dispatched to the scene just after 5 p.m. concerning the report of a missing child.
When the deputy arrived, he was told the toddler had been missing 10-15 minutes before they called. Hall said he asked the mother if she had checked the house well, looking in closets and under beds, and she said yes.
Not long after that conversation, the deputy said he heard the father screaming that he found the child in the lake. The deputy ran to the lake, and the father already had the child out of the water and was attempting resuscitation.
Hall and Deputy Fulbrycht took turns with the father in performing CPR until EMS arrived. The child was turned over to EMS and transported to the Medical Center.
