The Lady Hounds will be home for at least the first couple of rounds of the playoffs after clinching the subregion regular season title with a 2-1 victory at Houston County last Tuesday.

Junior lefty Kylie Bass went the distance for the victory, holding the Lady Bears to five hits and one unearned run while striking out five and walking none.

Bree Comer went 3-for-4, Bass was 2-for-4 and Jazmine Washington scored both runs for the Lady Hounds.

The Jones County girls also downed Rutland 7-2 at home last Thursday in a non-region game to improve to 21-3 on the season.

The Lady Hounds were to host Northside-Warner Robins in their final subregion game on Tuesday, and they close the regular season with a non-region game at Rutland on Thursday.

Jones County will host Lakeside-Evans in a best of three series in the opening round of the Region 2-AAAAA playoffs. The first two games will be at 2:30 and 4:30 p.m. Friday, and the third game, if necessary, will be Monday.
