Paying taxes will never be fun, but the Jones County Tax Commissioner’s office is attempting to make it more convenient for taxpayers with a user-friendly website for those wishing to pay by credit card.

Tax Commissioner Brian Jackson recently announced, just in time for the payment of property tax bills, that his office has launched a new website to give taxpayers the option of paying their bills online.

In addition to the payment option, the website makes it easier for those who do business in Jones County to access important tax information online. Property tax information is now available at

“Our new online tax website allows our citizens to search, view, and pay their property tax bill from the convenience of their home or office. Citizens can pay online via PayPal® using any one of the four major credit cards. In addition, citizens can print a copy of their tax bill, print a copy of their paid receipt, request an address change, and sign up for e-alerts from the tax office using the web site features,” Jackson said.

He said the tax office plans to continue to upgrade the technology and services they offer their citizens.
