JULIETTE: Sara Frances Jones Mitchell, 88, of Jarrell Plantation Road, died Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013, in a local nursing home. Funeral services are being held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 13, graveside, at Cleland-Newby Cemetery in Juliette, with the Rev. Robbye Jarrell officiating. The family will greet friends after the service at the residence of Martha Goodrich, 3799 Wesleyan Drive, North, in Macon.

Mrs. Mitchell, the daughter of the late Roland Stapler Jones and Mary Lou Flint Jones, was born in Fort Valley on May 29, 1925, and had lived in Macon for most of her life. After completing her education, she worked as an operator for BellSouth and in the day care of Cross Keys Baptist Church, where she was a devoted member until it closed. Mrs. Mitchell was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Walter Mitchell.

Mrs. Mitchell is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Martha and Carl Goodrich, Mary Lou and Freddie Curtis and Nancy Hancock; sons, Walt Mitchell and Roland Mitchell; sister, Mary Outler; and by her nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Vineville Baptist Church, 2591 Vineville Ave., Macon, GA 31204.
