Saturday, Nov. 30, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., Dot Yandle will be at the bookstore signing her children’s book, Three Baby Wrens. Yandle lives in Round Oak for part of the year and in Clemson, S.C., for the remainder of the year.
Yandle arrived in Jones County last week to prepare for Thanksgiving with her family.
The story, of Three Baby Wrens, takes place in Jones County and its characters include Mrs. Dot, Mr. Bruce, a pickup truck named Pete, and a nest of baby wrens on an adventure in rural Georgia.
Along the way, the wrens meet Miss Tiny, cats K.C. and Bee-bop, and a number of interesting birds who make their home around the White House in the tiny town of Round Oak.
The book is illustrated by award-winning cartoonist Robert Ariail, and includes a glossary of birds in the book, their nesting habits, colors, and what they eat.
