Owner Kema Clark said local authors Otis Scarbary and John Carter will be at the bookstore Dec. 21, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., to greet their friends and fans, answer questions, and sign books.
“These are good friends and they enjoy working together, so we decided to combine their signing day to bring in friends of both,” she said.
Scarbary wrote Leo’s Redemption about a patriarch who leaves his journal to his grandson, who is a prosecutor and also his namesake. As the young man begins reading his grandfather’s words, he begins discovering family secrets. He is entrusted with administering his family’s estate while at the same time seeking redemption for the patriarch’s covert actions.
The author has a Bachelor of Arts in political science and a juris doctorate degree from Mercer University. He is a former president of the Georgia Association of Solicitors General and was named Georgia Solicitor General of the Year in 2007. Scarbary retired as Bibb County solicitor general in 2012 after 29 years as a prosecutor and 35 plus years as an attorney. He was born, raised and currently resides in Macon.
