Son of the late Delton L. Moody Sr. and Alice M. Moody, he was born in Waycross, Aug. 25, 1925. He lived the majority of his life in Brunswick and the last year of his life in Jones County. He was a graduate of Appling County High School and a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy, and was a retiree of Georgia Power Company. He was a longtime member of Christian Renewal, where he served many years in the audio recording ministry. While living in Jones County, he enjoyed membership at Greenwood Baptist Church. Mr. Moody was preceded in death by his sister, Eugenia Gowder, and a grandson, Carlos M. Moody Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Juanita Y. Moody; a brother, James R. Moody (Barbara), and a sister, Juna Sigurdson (Don); sons, Carlos M. Moody Sr. (Vikki) and Larry E. Moody (Eve); grandchildren, Terrell L. Moody (Brandi), Joshua M. Moody (Laura Beth), Jennifer A. Meeks (Will), Ben Green (Michelle), Ashley Taylor, Michael Taylor (Kay Lynne), and Tiffany Taylor; great-grandchildren, Megan Moody, Katie Moody, Cameron Moody, Anna Meeks, Jaden Green, Jeremiah Taylor, Elsworth Taylor, SA’Faya Taylor, Dominique Taylor and Devin Taylor; several nieces and nephews also survive.
