GRAY: Joyce Lee Thompson, 77, died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014, at her residence, surrounded by her family. The family will greet friends one hour prior to a 3:00 p.m. celebration of her life, Friday, Jan. 31, in the chapel of Bridges Funeral Home. The Revs. Steve Waldorf and Ed Cadle will officiate.

Mrs. Thompson was born Sept. 11, 1936, in Macon, and had lived in Gray for the past 55 years. She was the daughter of the late Julius Loiue Huff and Mammie Pauline Loyd Huff. She was a longtime member of Cross Keys United Methodist Church, where she was very active and held many positions, and was a current member of Riverside United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Thompson is survived by her husband of 59 years, Billy Thompson; sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Leigh Thompson, Lee and Dottie Thompson and Craig and Kim Thompson; and grandchildren, Tyler Thompson, Matt Thompson, Jessica Thompson, Jake Thompson, Jace Thompson and Jaid Thompson.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Riverside United Methodist Church, 735 Pierce Ave., Macon, GA 31204 or to Evercare Hospice, 4875 Riverside Drive, Macon, GA 31210.
